JULIUS ZACHARIAS It is with great sadness that the family of Julius Zacharias announces his sudden passing on Sunday, January 28, 2007 at the age of 72. He is survived by his loving wife of 17 and one half years, Annelore Zacharias; his daughter Sonja Russell (John) and grand-children, Heather (Don), Sean, Becky and great-grandson Jack; his son Edward (Kim) and grandchildren, Kyle, Chelsea and Dustin and their mother Marga Zacharias; his stepdaughter Diana Regehr (Dieter) and grandchildren, Jaclyn and Kendra; his stepson Thomas Vogel (Cathy) and grandchildren, Dylan and Anissa. Also surviving are his sisters and brother, Herta, Linda (Herb), Helmut (Lynn) and sister-in-law Helene and their families. Julius immigrated from Germany in 1953 and settled in Morris, MB, later moving to Winnipeg in 1957. He enjoyed his 46 year tenure with Imperial Steel, where he retired from in 1999 as Production Manager. Julius loved his family and outdoor adventures, especially fishing, gardening, hunting and boating, as well as playing skat and cribbage. Julius and Annelore enjoyed many holidays around the world together, which gave them many treasured memories. The family would like to thank the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital - 5th floor, Unit #4 for their compassionate care. Cremation has taken place, a memorial service will be held on Friday, February 2 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Julius's memory to CancerCare Manitoba at the reception following the service. Julius was a true gentleman with a lot of grace and integrity and will be sadly missed by family, friends and all who knew him. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
