ARTHUR W. DIFFEY July 27, 1928 - January 28, 2007 Peacefully, surrounded by his family, Arthur Diffey passed away at the age of 78 years. Born in Valleyfield, PQ, Art spent his early years in Griffith, ON. In 1952 he joined the Canadian Army (R.C.E.M.E.) and was stationed in Winnipeg, MB where he met the love of his life, Antoinette (Toni). They were married in 1954 and together raised four children. Following his military service, Art was employed at Blackwoods Beverages until his retirement in 1991. His generous nature and love of people led him to volunteer at the Saint Boniface General Hospital for 15 years. Art had a strong faith and was actively involved with the Holy Family Roman Catholic Parish and the Knights of Columbus. His humour, story telling and ability to fix absolutely anything were greatly appreciated by his family and many friends. As a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, he leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife Toni; children, Arlene (Chris), John (Penny), Paul, Linda; grandchildren, Lisa (Paul), Adam, Kelli, Ashley; brothers, Roy, Pat (Kitty), Garry (Joan), and several nieces and nephews. A heartfelt thank you to all the wonderful staff on 3N West and E.R. at the Concordia Hospital. Funeral mass will take place at Holy Family Parish at 778 Archibald on Friday, February 2, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. Viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens on Lagimodiere Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Arthur's memory to the Saint Boniface Hospital Research Foundation, 409 Taché Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6.
