Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETER JOSEPH KUCHMA September 14, 1914 January 26, 2007 It is with great sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear father, Peter, on January 26, 2007 at the Maples Personal Care Home. Peter is survived by his daughters, Pat and Janet; son Ken; sister Helen (Peter) Moroz; nephews, Ron (Joan) and Robert, and great-niece Stephanie. He was predeceased by his wife Anne, of 59 years; parents, John and Irene; infant daughter Marianne; sisters, Annie and Nellie, and brother Eddie. Peter was born in Winnipeg and lived his entire life in the north end. He attended Isaac Newton and St. John's High School. He was employed with Simmons Limited for 47 years where he worked as an upholsterer and also served as shop steward. He married Anne on May 31, 1947 and spent the next 59 years raising a family and sharing a life together. Peter was a long time member of Blessed Virgin Mary Parish where he was involved in many aspects of church life. He was a member of the Men's Club, executive member of the Church Committee and New Horizons Seniors' Club. He was a founding member of the Bingo Committee, serving in an executive capacity for 50 years. Peter was a member of the Independent Order of Foresters for 53 years. In Peter's younger years he enjoyed bowling and watching other sports. A solemn divine liturgy will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, 965 Boyd Avenue with Father Volodymyr Bashutskyy officiating.
