EDWARD CHORNEY Peacefully, on January 31, 2007, at the Tudor House Personal Care Home, Edward Chorney passed away at 82 years old with his family by his side. Edward leaves surviving his beloved wife Nellie (Naurocki) of 57 years; daughter Susan (Paul); son Roger (Dianna); grandchildren, Jennifer (Tim), Clayton (Lisa), Jason (Laura), Chad, Jodie (Grahme), Cynthia (Richard), and Candice; sisters, Audrey (Maurice), Adeline, Nell, and Vera; brother Felix (Emily); brother-in-law Edward Galka; sister-in-law Jean Chorney and numerous great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his father Kost (1943); his mother Agnes (Howard) (1963); his daughter Frances Bilan (1982); his sisters, Clara, Ann, Stella, and Agnes; brothers, Ted and Mike. Edward was born in Garson on September 11, 1924 and that's where he and his wife Nellie farmed and raised a family. He worked at various jobs including Manitoba Hydro (two years), Garson Quarries (12 years), Steam Plant (four months) and The Manitoba Rolling Mills (23 years) where he retired at 63 years of age. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 3 at The Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Garson at 10:30 a.m. followed by interment at Garson Cemetery with Fr. Martin Bradbury officiating. Pallbearers will be Clayton and Chad Chorney, Paul and Jason Shumilak, Grahme Macfarlane and Richard Lachance. Special thanks to the staff at the Tudor Personal Care Home for their support and care. Thanks to the Gilbart Funeral Home for their special care and support in our family's time of need. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Children's Wish Foundation, 350 St. Mary Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3C 3J2 or the Tudor Personal Care Home, 800 Manitoba Ave., Selkirk, MB R1A 2C9.
