THOMAS WILLIAM TELFORD With his family by his bedside, Tom Telford passed peacefully away at St. Boniface Hospital, Sunday morning, January 28, 2007. Dad was in his 79th year. He was predeceased by his second wife Irene Trott, and his son Bill. Dad is survived and will be lovingly remembered by his partner Mariquita Trueman, and her family; by his son John Telford (Sherry); his daughter Tracy Becket (Roy); daughter-in-law, Cheryl Telford (Gord); first wife and friend, Shirley; stepchildren, Bruce Trott (Keri) and family, Karen Morrison (Dave) and Tracy Trott; his grandchildren, Shawn Telford-Eaton (Chris), John Telford, Keri-Lyn, Kyle and Kathryn Telford, Morgann Becket and great-granddaughter Avery Telford-Eaton. His early years were spent at the family farm at Shoal Lake, MB, a place he always thought of as home. Dad enjoyed a dedicated and distinguished career as a City of Winnipeg Fireman, retiring finally in 1990 as District Chief after 35 years on the force. As those that knew him well will tell you, he was an avid golfer, Blue Jay fan, duck hunter, a master of the crossword and one great storyteller. His presence on the city links and with friends at the local Legion are passed but not forgotten. A Celebration of Life Service for Dad was held on Friday, February 2 in the Windsor Park United Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Firefighters Burn Fund. His stories and his sense of humour will live on with us all. His Irish eyes are smiling.
