Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY BORN (nee WARKENTIN) 1930 - 2007 It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary on February 1, 2007, at Seven Oaks Hospital, at the age of 76. She was born on June 17, 1930 in the village of Neuenburg, South Russia. Mary, her mother and sister, Anne, immigrated to Canada in 1947 after the Second World War, coming first to Altona, Manitoba. After a few years they settled in Winnipeg (North Kildonan). Mary met Henry Born and they were married July 12, 1952. They had four children, the youngest, William who died as an infant. She will be greatly missed by her children: daughter Erika Friesen (George), son Arthur Born (Karen), daughter Helga Stecky (Frank). Also three grandchildren, Melody Born, Janet and Curtis Friesen; her sister, Anne Wiebe and husband Jacob; her nephew Jake Wiebe (Carla); niece Elfrieda Brown (Jim) and their children, Graham and Nicholas. She was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Anna Warkentin, two brothers in childhood, her infant son William, and husband Henry. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the North Kildonan Mennonite Church, 1151 Roch Street, with viewing prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or CancerCare Manitoba. The family would like to express their sincere thanks for the care received by nursing staff at Seven Oaks Hospital on 3BU7.
