MARGE (MATTIE) MARTIN Mrs. Marge (Mattie) Martin of St. Adolphe, beloved wife of the late Mr. Larry Martin, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2007 at the age of 97 years. Marge was born in Dundee, Scotland on May 29, 1909, a daughter of John and Martha McKinnon. She was schooled in Scotland and in 1926, she immigrated with her parents to Canada, settling in Moose Jaw. Marge's first job in Canada was at Eaton's. She met Larry in Moose Jaw and married him in 1936. Eventually she settled with Larry in Lac Du Bonnet. After Larry died in 1969, Marge later moved to Winnipeg and stayed with her sister, Winnie and her family for many years. In 1987, Marge moved in with her son, Jim and his family and spent the rest of her days there in St. Adolphe. Marge will be remembered by her son; Jim and his wife, Carol; her grandsons, Kyle, Scott and Jordan; her brother, Jim (Mary) McKinnon; her nieces, Jan and Lori Dann; her nephews, Alan Dann and Jackie McKinnon and by numerous other relatives and friends. Marge was predeceased by her husband, Larry; by three sisters, Margaret McKinnon, Winnifred (Winnie) Dann and Edith Wallwork; and by two brothers, Jack and Ken McKinnon. Those wishing to pay their final respects to Marge may do so in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 1531 Pembina Highway in Winnipeg on Thursday, February 8 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 200- 310 Broadway, Winnipeg, R3C 0S6, the CNIB, 1080 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, R3G 3M3, or to a charity of your choice.
