Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALFRED EMERIC GUIMOND It is with deep regret that we announce the death of Alfred Emeric Guimond. He passed away at the Sunnywood Manor in Pine Falls, Manitoba, on Thursday, February 1, 2007, two weeks from his 92nd birthday, surrounded by family. A resident of St. Georges, Manitoba since January 1953, he is survived by Therese Guimond and seven children: Anita (Albert) Vincent, Jeaninne (Robert) Chevrefils, Denis (Lucille) Ada Guenette, Arthur (Barbara), Marc (Suzanne) and Claudette Papineau. He is further survived by his in-laws Rachel Guimond, Madeleine Boisjoli, and Paul Papineau, and his siblings, Wilfred, Elzire (Maurice) Desjardins and Therese (Paul) Longtin. He will also be remembered by his 31 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Camille and Elpherida Guimond; his son George; son-in-law Claude Guenette; granddaughter Morgan Fitzpatrick; brothers, Rosario and Joseph; and sisters, Marie Anna, Aurise (Alfred) Hogue and Marie Ange (George) Girrior. His family's well being was always looked after with much love and affection. His most unique pastime was seeking out potential relatives during his travels across the country rebuilding family ties. An active member of the Roman Catholic parishes of St. Georges and Fort Alexander, Alfred was also one of the founders of the St. Georges Museum and an active participant at the Chateauguay Seniors Home. His hobbies included - but were not limited to - gardening and lawn care, socializing and dancing, and endless games of cribbage with his family and friends. The family would like to extend special thanks to the caring and professional staff of Sunnywood Manor, Dr. Abu Dieh, and to Fr. Dominic La Fleur. Prayers will be held at St. Georges Catholic Church at 1:30 p.m. Monday, February 5, 2007. Funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., with Fr. Pierre Dumaine officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Sunnywood Recreation Fund, Box 2000 Pine Falls, Manitoba R0E 1M0. Vita Funeral Home In Care of Arrangements

We wish to extend our sincerest condolences to Matante Therese, Uncle Alfred's surviving brother and sisters, children and numerous grandchildren. You are all in our thoughts and prayers especially in this very difficult time. It was wonderful getting reacquainted and sharing the many wonderful memories of days gone by. We hope that the next time we meet it is under happier circumstances. Thank you for your warm hospitality.
