Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNANCY JUNE NIEMI (nee ROSSER) Suddenly on Friday, February 2, 2007, our beloved wife, mother and daughter left us at the tender age of 28. Nancy was the only child of Linda Rosky-Rosser (Malcolm Lucas) and Evan Rosser (Penny Johanson, daughters, Adrienne and Jessica) born in Winnipeg on January 23,1979 - The Year of the Child. She will be forever loved by her husband Curtis and cherished by their seven month old daughter, Hannah. Curtis and Nancy would have celebrated their first wedding anniversary on February 11, 2007. Nancy was the daughter-in-law of Carl Niemi, granddaughter of June Rosky, Iris Rosser and Sylvia Niemi. She will also be sadly missed by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family, many of whom considered her their dear and loving friend. Nancy's greatest passion was caring for animals. She dedicated many of her years pursuing education in Veterinary Medicine, which helped her obtain many jobs in that field. Nancy was always bringing home stray animals such as her cats, Gopher and Whisper and they are still with us after many years. Throughout her lifetime, Nancy won numerous awards in gymnastics and tap dancing. She also excelled in English Riding and Western Show, ballet, singing and guitar. Nancy and Curtis' greatest joy has been raising Hannah and caring for Ralphie, the Chocolate Lab. Their relationship was also enhanced by their common interest in fishing and a great enthusiasm for the game of hockey. Her favourite team was the Colorado Avalanche vs. Curtis' Edmonton Oilers. Nancy will be remembered for her laughter and unselfish pursuit of helping others. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, February 6 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Cremation will follow and a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 7 at 2:00 p.m. in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 6088 PTH 9A, south main, Selkirk with Rev. Fr. Within our hearts it is there you stood You never believed You couldn't You only believed You could The past is never silent, if only you were here to stay The present has become me, that is where I'll pray If only I could hold you just to see your loving glance But it is now I thank you, Lord for giving us that one momentous chance By Uncle Jamie In lieu of flowers, donations in Nancy's memory may be made to a trust fund for Hannah Niemi at the Bank of Nova Scotia, Selkirk or any of its branches.
