He leaves to love and remember him his devoted wife, of 57 years, Helen; children, Verna Wallach (Albert Shewchuk) of Vidir, Linda (Lloyd) Podaima of Fisher Branch, Gladys Wallach (Julius Jozsa) of Stavely, AB, Rocky (Emyline Thompson) of Poplarfield, Dolly Wallach (Bruce Kucharczyn) of Teulon, June of Richmond Hill, ON; grandchildren, Wade (Lynn), Keri, Chad, Blaine, Ryan and Mandy (Evan); great-grandchildren, Ethan, Megan and Lauren; brothers, Charlie (Beatrice) and Frank (Evelyn) of Poplarfield; sister, Anne (Frank) Skibinski of Hodgson; sister-in-law, Rosie Troschuk of Poplarfield; respectfully Ron Sobkowich of Fisher Branch, Brenda Wallack of Winnipeg; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. John spent his life in Poplarfield, raising his family and farming, ΒΌ mile from his childhood home. The farm was the only place he had ever wanted to be, and although he was never one to venture too far, he had a curious and inquisitive nature and always showed interest in the world around him. He loved wildlife and the outdoors and spent many seasons hunting and trapping. He was a successful hunter, even after his illness forced him to shoot left handed. At home, Dad could often be a man of few words but he made count those he did offer. At the moment you thought he wasn't paying attention he would say something quietly profound that let you know he was aware all the while. He was a gentleman in every way, and to his family, he became an example of quiet strength and dignity. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, February 8, 2007 in the Poplarfield Hall. Honorary pallbearers are Nick Sanduliak and Ron Sobkowich. Private family burial will occur at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you honor John by gifting yourself with some invaluable time spent with loved ones.
