Sophie was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, William in 1988; daughter Alice in 2006, son-in-law Herb also in 2006 and her six siblings. She is survived by her children Terry (Victoria) and Annette (Chris) Kuhnel, eight grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Sophie was born in Prudhomme, SK. in 1913. In 1930 she married William and together they had three children. In 1946 the family moved to Winnipeg; settling in East Kildonan. Baba enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, gardening, cross-stitching, and crocheting. Her greatest love was her family; enjoying the many visits and get-togethers throughout the year. Baba was active right up until the fall of 2006. Donwood Manor provided many activities for her to enjoy including Bocci Ball, Bingo, card games, and carpet bowling. Baba also loved to watch her great-grandchildren Ukrainian dancing at Folklorama and other special events throughout the year. The family wishes to express a sincere thank you to her friends at Donwood Senior's Home, the staff of Concordia Hospital, Dr. Shawn Thomas, Dr. R. Hamm, Dr. N. Woo and the nursing staff at Concordia Place. Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2007, 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home with reception to follow.
