FLORENCE BANKS (nee McKENZIE) It is with deep regret that we announce the sudden passing of Florence Banks at her home on February 2, 2007. She is predeceased by her husband Ted, survived by her loving family, Noreen (Ford and family), Linda (Bill and family), Geoff (Holly and family), Holly (Brad) and grand-children, Haylee and Erin Bowling. Her sisters, Mary Horner and Annetta Kinney, also mourn her loss. Flo was born in Eden, MB, December 7, 1924. Subsequent to her schooling, she moved to Melita, MB where she was employed at the Royal Bank and eventually met her beloved husband Ted. Flo and Ted lived in several Manitoba towns before settling in Winnipeg where they remained for over 20 years. Flo was an active member of Deer Lodge United Church and Deer Lodge Curling Club. In 1972, Ted and Flo moved to Tsawwassen where they became active members of their community. In addition to her weekly walking club, Flo was a member of Tunnel Town Curling Club, Sunshine Woods Ladies Golf Group and a dedicated member of the Tsawwassen United Church for over 30 years. During her 82 years, Flo's focus was always her husband, children and extended family. She took enormous pride in her children's accomplishments and cheerleaded all their efforts. An excellent listener, she always heard the message between the words. Flo had a keen mind which was honed with her daily crossword puzzles, her meticulous management of family finances and her deep appreciation of a good story. An avid hockey fan, we thought, she knew more about the Canucks than the Canucks knew about themselves. Her enthusiasm for Canada's game was shared with her family and grandchildren. Haylee and Erin often hung out with Grandma watching T.V., movies, hockey games or playing cards. Flo had many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends who she welcomed into her home to share a cup of tea and a chat. She will be sorrowly missed but her quick laugh, warm heart and her energetic zest for life will never be forgotten. Funeral: Tsawwassen United Church, 693 - 53rd St., Tsawwassen, BC, Saturday, February 10 at 1:00 p.m. Those desiring can make a gift of remembrance to the charity of their choice. Delta Funeral Home (604) 946-6040
