Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHERBERT DONALD (DON) SCHADE It is with great sadness that the Schade family announces the passing of Herbert Donald (Don) Schade, of Beausejour, Manitoba, peacefully on Monday, February 5, 2007, at the age of 75. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Pat; sons, Doug (Debbie), Bruce (Shannon), Les, Gerald (Kim) and daughter Su Skipper. Grandchildren, Kelly and Nolan; Kelsey and Devon; Ryan and Derek; and Danielle and Jordan. He is survived by his sister Eleanor Gmiterek and numerous nieces and nephews. Don was predeceased by his parents, Gustav and Louise and brothers, Leo and Albert. Don was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Upon retirement from the Department of Highways in 1993, he managed to stay active and busy volunteering for a variety of community groups and projects. Don loved woodworking and spent many hours tinkering around in the garage thinking of what he could build next. Many of his projects adorn our community parks. Don won a number of awards for his volunteer civic duties. He was an active member of the Beausejour Club 50 and always looked forward to their monthly gatherings. One of his proudest accomplishments was setting a goal to walk the distance across Canada in 2006, and meeting that goal. His grandchildren were his greatest joy. He attended all of their most important events and was so proud of all their accomplishments. He loved nothing better than to spoil the grandchildren and his candy dish was always full when they came for visits. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
