Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE A. BARKER It is with deep sorrow the family announce the peaceful passing of George A. Barker on February 4, 2007. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Mary, daughter Merrilyn Hall (Keith), son Robert, daughter Carol Hiebert (Marlowe) and dearly loved granddaughter Cassidy Hiebert, all of Winnipeg. He was predeceased by his father, mother and sister, Amelia. Born on April 15, 1922, George resided in Winnipeg his entire life. He began his career as a printer at Bishop Printing Co. Ltd. with his father, and later became president of the company. His integrity and generosity to business associates and friends made him a highly respected businessman in the community for over 65 years. He faithfully served the Lord throughout his life both through music as a tenor soloist and then later as a beloved Sunday School teacher at Calvary Temple. He also supported many Christian ministries. George was a family man through and through and was always happiest when the whole gang was together at the many fun family events. A celebration of his life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 8 at Calvary Temple in the Buntain Chapel, 400 Hargrave St. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so desire, donations may be made to Calvary Temple radio and television ministries. The family wishes to thank the dedicated staff at Riverview Health Centre, Oakview Personal Care Home and Grace Hospital for the care he received during the past few months.
