Anne will lovingly be remembered by her brother Mike (Thelma) Michalecki; sisters, Mary Kruch and Bernice (Mike) Mandzik. She will also be missed by her niece Judy (Ron) Worthington; nephews, John (Joan) Kruch, Mark (Pina) Mandzik and their families. She was predeceased by her husband Bill in 1970; parents, Mike and Pearl; brother-in-law Rudy Kruch. Anne was born in Winnipeg on January 6, 1916. Prior to her marriage, Anne worked at Peerless Laundry and then she and Bill owned and operated the Colony Beauty Barber Shop, retiring in 1969. They moved to Ponemah where Anne lived until 2002 when, due to failing health she moved back to Winnipeg to be closer to her family. She loved her life and her friends at the lake and was an active member of the church choir at Our Lady of the Lake Church and the Gimli Horizons Seniors Choir. After her husband's passing, Anne spent several winters in Winnipeg looking after her mother, as well as cooking for the priests at John XXIII and later at Immaculate Conception Church. Anne was a hardworking, generous, independent woman with a great sense of humour. Anne loved to dance, bake, play cards and tell her famous jokes. She had much love for her family, her niece and nephews and their children. They will always remember the fun times they had with her. A special thank you to niece Judy for all your love, support and care of Auntie Anne during the last five years. The family also wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Fred Douglas Lodge for their compassion and support during the six months Anne resided there. According to Anne's wishes, cremation has taken place. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 8 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Cantius Church, 846 Burrows Ave. Interment will take place at Chapel Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations to Winnipeg Harvest, Fred Douglas Lodge or a charity of their choice may be made in Anne's memory. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
