MARGARET (MARY LOU) MILLER (nee BARTON) October 11, 1933 - February 6, 2007 Peacefully, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, Mary Lou passed away at St. Boniface Hospital on Tuesday, February 6, 2007 surrounded by family. Mary Lou was born in Alliston, ON and spent her early years in Red Lake. Later, she moved to Winnipeg to pursue her Register Nurse (R.N.) accreditation at Winnipeg General Hospital, graduating in 1955. She enjoyed working in her profession throughout her life at Winnipeg General Hospital and Middlechurch Home. Mary Lou lived a full life, volunteering at numerous organizations and developed strong friendships through these and more recently in her passion of curling at Rossmere. She was an inspiration in her determination, her love, open heart and commitment to our family. Mom will be greatly missed and always loved by her husband of 49 years, Ervin; her sons and their families, including her precious grandchildren, Greg and Jeanine (Kristen, Melanie, Kaitlyn), Doug and Darcy (Craig, Tara), and Mark and Deanne (Sarah, Timothy). She is survived by her sister Shirley (Doug) Fahlgren of North Bay, ON; sister-in-laws, Lil (Mel), Lenore (Alf) and Sandra, and many nephews and nieces. Mary Lou was predeceased by her parents, Kathleen and Willard Barton, and brother-in-laws, Norman, Gordon and Ernie. Thank you to the caring staff of 8A Palliative Care, St. Boniface Hospital. Special thanks to Drs. Garcia and Gordon. The Funeral Service will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home, Friday, February 9, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Neill Stitt officiating.
