F. JOSEPH TONKIN With sadness we announce the sudden but peaceful death of Joseph Tonkin at his home on February 6, 2007. Joe was born in Winnipeg on July 16, 1937, the only son of Lucille and Francis Joseph Tonkin, now deceased. He is survived by his cousins, Lucille Mahon (Jim) and Margaret Meagher of Montreal and their large extended families. Joe was a faithful member of St. John Brebeuf Parish, the Knights of Columbus, Council #11005 and The Clubhouse of Winnipeg. He battled mental illness with strength and courage aided by his family, dear friends, many faithful Prayer Partners and his strong faith in God. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 12 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Brebeuf Parish. Private interment will follow at a later date.
