Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIE-JEANNE CECILE BUCCINI (nee VILLENEUVE) After a long and determined battle with cancer, at the age of 54, while in the care of the Riverview Health Centre on February 6, 2007. MJ leaves to mourn her passing, the love of her life, Ivano, her husband of 31 years, and her treasured sons, Jonathan and Paul and dearest nephew Tyler. Her memory will also be cherished by her older brothers, Paul (Linda) of Surrey, BC, Marcel (Marianne) of Oakville, ON and George (Lillian) of White Rock, BC and her younger sister and best friend Renée (Ernie) Harsant of Winnipeg. She will be lovingly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, many friends and students. She made a place in the hearts of all who knew her. Her strength and courage in the last five years have been an inspiration to many. Marie-Jeanne was born on May 30, 1952. In her youth she attended l'Ecole du Sacré Coeur. She graduated from Garden City Collegiate in 1970, and in 1972 she obtained her teaching certificate from the University of Manitoba. She received her Bachelor of Education in 1976. Her career in teaching was a great source of joy for her. Marie-Jeanne loved to travel, and enjoyed many trips including various destinations in the Caribbean, Mexico, England, France, Italy, Turkey and most recently, Greece. She was known for creating great dinners for her family and friends. Her home always embraced visitors with warmth and happiness. Marie-Jeanne had a great artistic flair that was apparent in her home décor. She carried herself with grace and style that was unique to her character. The family wishes to express their gratitude to her sister Tootsie whose resolute spirit carried Marie-Jeanne till the end. The ongoing support of her sister-in-law Pia; her friends, Jennie, Lorraine and Judy was also a tremendous comfort to Marie-Jeanne. Their many acts of kindness were gratefully appreciated. Bless you Auntie Mom (Sister Maria Carignan) for your constant spiritual guidance. A heartfelt thank-you is also extended to many others whose caring and concern encouraged the steadfast battle Marie-Jeanne endured. Thank-you's are also extended to the many friends who have supported Jon and Paul. Service will be held at Assiniboia Christian Centre (Blessed John XXIII), 3390 Portage Ave. on Saturday, February 10 at 10:00 a.m. with Msgr. Maurice Comeault officiating. Interment of the cremated remains will take place at Assumption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to World Vision or a charity of your choice.
