Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELIZABETH SHAW February 19, 1914 - February 5, 2007 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Elizabeth (Beth) Shaw at Bow View Manor, Calgary. Beth was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and grew up with her parents, Edwin (Ned) and Rose Copley, and her sister Maude in MacGregor, Macdonald and Roland before settling in Elm Creek, Manitoba. Beth graduated from Normal School in Winnipeg and taught school with gentleness and dedication for close to 30 years in small towns, at a time when the school rooms could include as many as 40 eager students covering all subjects. Beth mastered many skills during her life but never got the hang of the automobile (neither did her father, mother or sister). Beth was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 60 years. She was an avid sports fan. She truly enjoyed listening to hockey, in particular when her Winnipeg Jets were playing and in the summer when it was her Expos and Bombers. Beth was predeceased by her husband George; parents, Ned and Rose; sister Maude; brother-in-law Bill; niece Margaret; brothers-in-law, Mack and Roger; sister-in-law Fron, and nephew Gordon. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Leslie of Calgary; brother-in-law Lorne; sisters-in-law, Betty and Mona; her nieces and nephews, Gordon, Norine, Dennis, Lenore, Lexa, Doug, Don, and Betty Ann, and their families. The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the staffs of Bow View Manor and Trinity Lodge, Dr. Margo Mclean and special friends, Wayne and Vi Beach and Angela Kokott. A celebration of Beth's life will be held at Doyle's Funeral Chapel, Carman, Manitoba on Saturday, February 17, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. followed by a tea (Mum's favourite social event). If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the charity of their own choice.
