Date of Passing: Feb 09, 2007
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPATRICIA CATHERINE BYRNE It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the passing of Patricia Byrne, our mother and the beloved wife of the late Tony Byrne on February 9, 2007 at the Riverview Health Centre. Patricia will be remembered with great affection by her son Michael Byrne and Michael's wife Donna, her son Patrick and his wife Stephanie, her grandchildren, Kathy (Christian), David (Tara), and Eilish, and by her great-grandchildren, Liam and Lauren. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Edward and Robert Moore, and her grandson Paddy. Patricia was born in Great Falls, Montana and moved with her family to Pine Falls, Manitoba at an early age. She graduated from Wesley College (now the University of Winnipeg) and taught school in rural Manitoba. She and Tony were married on July 1, 1940, locating in Winnipeg where they lived, worked and raised their family together. Patricia returned to teaching when the children were old enough, and enjoyed many years at Balmoral Hall School. She had a special interest in dogs, and showed her Basenjis at shows all over North America. She was an active and long-time member of St. Jean de Brebeuf Roman Catholic Church. Patricia has resided at the Riverview Health Centre since August of 2005, where she was very well cared for. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff of CD-1 for their care, support and kindness to Patricia during her time there. Flowers are gratefully declined, but should friends desire, donations in Patricia's memory may be made to the Riverview Health Centre Foundation, 1 Morley, Winnipeg, MB R3L 2P4. A family graveside service will be held at a later date.
