Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryONORIO GOSGNACH It is with great sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Onorio Gosgnach on Saturday morning, February 3, 2007, with his family by his side. Remaining to cherish his memory are his wife Emilia Gosgnach of 45 years; daughter Silvana Zeeuwen; son-in-law Danny Zeeuwen; stepgrandchildren, Shaun and Mitchell Zeeuwen; and his sister Pia Franz (of Vancouver). As well, he leaves to mourn all his extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Pio and Bernadetta Gosgnach; his brothers, Giuseppe, Pio and Tiziano. Onorio was born on February 7, 1934 and raised in Savogna, Udine Italy. He served as an Alpino in the Italian military and worked in Zermatt, Switzerland prior to immigrating to Winnipeg in 1958. In Winnipeg, he worked at Red River Construction, Swift and Schneiders. Onorio was a devoted, hardworking and giving husband, father and stepgrandfather. He enjoyed gardening during the summer but his favourite season was the fall as he was an avid outdoorsman. The early fall also brought the grape harvest for wine making and the time for mushroom picking. It was with great pleasure that he shared his harvest with family and friends, whether it was a glass of homemade wine or a package of wild game or homemade sausages. And during all seasons, Onorio loved hanging out with Klancy, his Lab cross buddy. As per Onorio's desires, and in keeping with how he celebrated family occasions, a private family Catholic funeral mass was held on his birthday, Wednesday, February 7 at Holy Rosary Church with Fr. Gary Killen officiating. Pallbearers were Danny and Silvana Zeeuwen; David, Stephen, Nick, and Sean Chevalier (his friends who were with him when he got his last deer). Interment was at Holy Family Cemetery. The family would like to thank the caregivers on 5E at St Boniface Hospital for their kind and gentle care of Onorio. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
