LINDA MARY BRUCE Peacefully on Monday, February 5, 2007, at the Portage and District General Hospital, Linda Mary Bruce passed away at the age of 63 years. Linda was born in Winnipeg on April 1, 1943, the seventh child of William and Mary Catton. She is survived by her siblings; Allison Turner, Doris Paulick, Bill Catton, Royce Catton, Gordon Catton and Thomas Catton. On April 9, 1960 Linda married Richard Bruce and they lived at Headingly for seven years. They lived in Winnipeg for three years, before returning to a new home at Headingly in 1972. In 1978 they moved to Winnipeg where they lived until retiring to Portage la Prairie in 1997. Dick and Linda spent the last eight winters in Yuma, Arizona which she enjoyed very much. Linda volunteered in the kitchen at Herman Prior Senior's Centre and at the Arts Centre until her health failed. Linda was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over thirty years. She was also an avid reader. Linda will be missed by all who knew her. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, February 13 at 2:00 p.m. in the Herman Prior Centre with the Reverend David Heasler officiating. A reception will follow. If friends so desire, memorial donations to Central Plains Cancer Care Service, 318 Saskatchewan Ave. E., Portage la Prairie would be appreciated.
