IRENE ALMA CHATTERLEY (nee KOCH) At peace, on Tuesday, February 6, 2007, Irene Alma Chatterley, aged 91 years, was called to be with her Lord. Thanks be to God for her precious life, her abiding love for her family and her strong faith. She was a Christian above all else. Words express so little of what is felt in our hearts as we celebrate her life. Alma was predeceased by her father in 1939; her brother Arthur (1973); her loving husband Walter Leonard Chatterley (1976); her mother Hulda Koch (1980), and sister Esther (1986). She leaves to cherish her memory daughter Judy and her husband Brian; son Donald and his wife Barbara; four beloved grandchildren, Catherine, Lindsay, Allison and Lori, and most loved great-grandsons, Hyalmar and Jordan. Also surviving Irene are nieces and nephews, Trevor, Deanna, Murray, Patsy and their families. Alma was the oldest surviving member of the founding families of the Lutheran Church of the Cross, her father a founding member of the congregation. Having taught Sunday School, Confirmation Classes, participating in group bible study, activities of the Women of the Church, and serving on the Board of Trustees, she was an active contributing member of the church until a decline in her health in December 1999. She was a dedicated T. Eaton Co. employee and loved every minute shopping in her favourite store. She will be fondly remembered for her talents of knitting the most fabulous sweaters, her needlework, and for opening her house to all her family and extended family for wonderful Christmas / Easter dinners. Our heartfelt thanks go to her dedicated care providers, in particular, Dr. M. Czarnecka, the staff at The Waverley-Evergreen House, and the staff on CD2 at the Riverview Health Centre who provided the most compassionate care to her and us this past year. Funeral services Tuesday, 11:00 a.m., February 13, 2007 at the Lutheran Church of the Cross, Arlington at Ellice. Pastor Frank Bahr officiating. Interment to follow in Thomson In the Park' Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. Should friends so desire, donations may be made to the Cross Fund, Lutheran Church of the Cross, 560 Arlington Street. In my Father's house are many mansions... ...I go to prepare a place for you...John 14:2 THOMSON IN THE PARK FUNERAL HOME AND CEMETERY 1291 McGillivray Blvd., 925-1120
