MARY SIEMENS We are saddened to announce the passing of our Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother, Mary Siemens, on Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at Sunset Extendicare, Regina, SK, at the age of 85 years. Her husband Abe predeceased her in 1995. Her son Ed and granddaughter, Jennifer along with daughter Darlene and husband Don and their family, Brenda and husband Stan and their children Crystal and Kassandra, will forever miss her. Annie, Esther, and Ruthe will sadly miss their sister, Mary. Her sisters-in-law, brother-in-law plus numerous nieces and nephews also survive her. Mary was born in Herbert, SK area and as a young adult moved to Winnipeg. On July 7, 1948, she married Abe Siemens and together they raised their family in Winnipeg. Mary was actively involved in the church and loved to organize activities. In her later years she spent many hours reading and knitting. When ill health began to hinder her activities she moved to Regina to be close to her children. Sunset Extendicare was her home for the last three years. She adopted the staff at Sunset and they became part of her extended family. We are grateful to the staff at Sunset for making these years so enjoyable for Mom. A Service to Celebrate Mary's life will be held at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street, Winnipeg on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. Viewing prior to the service, with interment to follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sunset Extendicare Resident Council, 260 Sunset Drive, Regina, S4S 2S3 or to a charity of your choice.
