LIEUTENANT THOMAS WILLIAM (BILL) TURNER February 19, 1943 February 5, 2007 It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bill Turner on Monday, February 5, 2007 at the Health Science Centre at the age of 63 years. Remaining to forever cherish Bill's memory are his wife, Joan (nee Butler) of 42 years of marriage; his daughters, Shauna Turner and fiancé Dan Freeze, Vicki Charski (Mike), and granddaughter Nicole; his brother Bob, (Joann) and their son Garrett. He was predeceased by his mother Phyllis and father Fraser. Bill worked for the City of Winnipeg Fire Department from 1964 to 1990. Although his death came unexpectedly and prematurely he accepted it with dignity and peace of mind. Bill's wife and entire family were with him during his last days at the Health Sciences Centre. A funeral service for Bill was held Saturday, February 10 at 1:00 p.m. in the Silver Heights United Church, 199 Garrioch Avenue (corner of Mount Royal Road and Ness Avenue). Our warmest thanks to the Health Sciences Centre staff involved in Bill's care. In lieu of flowers those who wish are encouraged to make a donation in his memory to the Firefighters Burn Fund Inc., 303 83 Garry Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3C 4J9.
