He was predeceased by his parents, William and Mary; brothers, Tony, Mike, Clement, Angus and Alex; sisters, Nettie, Sylvia and Phyllis and niece Debbie. Ted was born in Mears, MB, the 13 of 16 children. At an early age, with the passing of his father, Ted was faced with the responsibilities of helping to run the family farm, as well as caring for his younger siblings. Years later, Ted moved to Winnipeg, where he met his wife Mabel on the day he often referred to as: The luckiest day of my life. . Married in 1955, Ted and Mabel raised their family in West Kildonan. Ted was a Sheet Metal Mechanic, employed by the same company for 43 years. A self taught guitar player, Ted played in a number of bands and could be found most every weekend performing his favourite Ukrainian or country songs at a wedding or local pub. Mostly, he will be remembered for bringing joy and laughter to everyone he knew. Always the entertainer, he took great pleasure in filling a room with song, a good joke or a tale of his youth. Family and friends were the most important things in his life. He was the happiest when surrounded by the people he loved. Dad, thank you for loving us and for all the wonderful memories we will cherish for eternity. We love you.....Rest peacefully. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff in emergency, ICU and 3rd floor unit 5 at Seven Oaks Hospital for their caring and compassion. Prayers will be Monday, February 12 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 13 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Ave., with Rev.
