CHRISTOPHER LEO DAVIS August 16, 1953 - February 9, 2007 Chris passed away peacefully in his home at the age of 53 years. He is survived by his beloved wife Gail and son Scott; parents, Pauline and Leo Davis; brother Stuart (Lori); mother-in-law Ruth Bakken; sisters-in-law, Brenda (Reg) Taylor, Linda (Bert) Olson, Karen (Louis) Vermette; nephews, Kyle (Kaleigh) and Chad Davis, Bradly and Greg Taylor, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan; special friends, Merle Draper and Don (Carolyn) Halbert. He was predeceased by his father-in-law Knut Bakken; brother-in-law Wayne Schienbein, and nephews, Brent and Ryan Schienbein. Chris spent his early years growing up on an acreage west of Edmonton. After a move to Saskatoon and subsequently Winnipeg, he attended high school at Westwood Collegiate. His summers were spent working on his Grandfather Guthrie's ranch outside of Edmonton during his teenage years, stooking hay and caring for the horses. After his school years he began working in the family book-bindery business (Universal Bindery), where he became an accomplished bookbinder. Chris was an avid fisherman and spent many hours in the company of good friends on the lakes and rivers of Manitoba. He was a skilled camper and was able to get a campfire going during a torrential downpour of rain. He loved to listen to music, watch television and movies. He was particularly fond of watching professional wrestling. Chris will be remembered for his generosity, his kindness, his laughter which could be heard throughout the house and his love of animals, particularly dogs. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. In compliance with the family's wishes, there will be no formal funeral service.
