Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBERNHARD EDWARD WIENS Born: March 4, 1929 - Died: February 9, 2007 After a prolonged battle with health problems Bernie passed away at Health Sciences Centre with members of his family at his bedside. He will be remembered for his gentle, kind, and generous ways, and his profound love for his family and friends. Left to cherish his memory is Ruth, his wife of over 51 years; his beloved daughter Elizabeth Ann (Lisa) and his loving sons, Harold Edward and Bernhard (Bernie) John and their wives; his treasured grandchildren, Elissa and her husband Andre Duscharme, James, Emilie, Brad and Alexander. Also his great-grandsons Dominic and Kian who made his eyes sparkle. Also surviving him is his sister Margaret Wiens and sisters-in-law Irene and Hilda Wiens, and his dear nieces and nephews and their families. Bernie was predeceased by his youngest son David George, and his four brothers, Ernest, John, Theodore, and Henry. The Family wishes to thank the nurses and doctors of the Health Sciences Centre Critical Care Unit for the compassionate care they provided to Bernie and his family. Funeral service will be held Thursday, February 15 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave. Viewing one half hour prior to service. Interment to follow at La Salle Mennonite Cemetery, La Salle, MB. Officiating Rev. Ed Hamm.
