JOHN KLUSHEWICH (BIG JOHN) January 23, 1929 - February 10, 2007 After a courageous battle with many complications, John departed on Saturday, February 10, 2007. He leaves behind his loving wife Mary, after 50 wonderful years together, along with his precious daughter Karen, her husband Rod and two very loving grandchildren, Brad and Cheryl. Predeceased by his parents, Verna and Joseph; sisters, Victoria, Anne and Mary. John is survived by his sisters, Jean and Olga, along with many in-laws, nieces and nephews, and very special niece Barb Shipley. Big John, as he was affectionately known, touched the lives of everyone he met from growing up on the farm in Elphinstone to working at both Security Storage and Motorways. Because of his outgoing, friendly nature he was known to many and continued to make friends everywhere he went. John always provided support and enjoyment for all around him. This won him the friendship, admiration and respect of anybody that knew him. These friendships have lasted a lifetime and provided memories that will go on in the hearts and minds of the people he touched. John was an extremely devoted family man and would do anything for his family. His enjoyment in life was to put everyone first and then watch them benefit from his kindness. He provided unconditional love, support, leadership, guidance, with such devotion and determination. He never judged anyone's failures, rather, he accepted everyone for who they were. All of us left here would have to agree, it was a great honour to have known this wise, gentle and patient man. We will miss his presence in all we do, especially in conversation, as he always had a story to tell everyone. We would like to express our gratitude for the excellent care provided by all the doctors and nurses at both I.C.U. departments at the Grace and St. Boniface Hospitals. Cremation has taken place and a tribute to honour the life of John will be held on Friday, February 16, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Memorial donations may be made to Grace Hospital Foundation, St. Boniface Research Foundation or a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to: Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 885-9715
