Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNIE ZINYK February 28, 1941 - February 10, 2007 After a brief illness Anne passed away on February 10, 2007 at the Health Sciences Centre. Anne was born in Medika, Manitoba on February 28, 1941. Anne was a victim of the Polio Epidemic and became a quadraplegic at the age of 17. She spent many years at the King George Hospital in Winnipeg. When mother moved to Winnipeg in the 1960s Anne went to live with her. Mother took care of Anne until her passing in 1995. In 2002 she moved to Riverview Health Centre where she resided until her passing. Anne was a strong willed person and a fighter to the end. She never let her handicap get in her way and especially enjoyed her regular trips to the shopping malls. She is survived by her brothers, Nick (Nadia) of Windsor, Ontario, Walter (Susan), Bill (Ann), Paul (Stephy), Zanny (Helen) and her sister Helen Kaban all of Winnipeg, along with numerous nieces, nephews and close friends. We would like to thank the staff at Health Sciences Centre and Riverview Health Centre for their kindness to Anne. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 16, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. The Pallbearers are Wally Zinyk, William Zinyk, Brian Zinyk, Billy Norosky, Ed Chorney and John Bradley. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made in Anne's name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
