In 1943, he opened a dry cleaning business, and in 1948, opened Perfect Tailors Furriers on Sargent Avenue. A few years later Bill changed the name to Perfect Tailors where he was one of the first clothiers to bring the Zoot Suit style to Canada. In 1974 he expanded the operation to become Perfect Uniform Sportswear until his retirement in 1995. Bill was involved in a number of private ventures. He co-built the Falcon Lake Motor Hotel in 1959. From 1959 to 1982, he along with his brother Alex were co-owners and breeders of thoroughbred horses at Assiniboia Downs. Bill's hobbies included photography. It was never a surprise to see him taking pictures with his Leica camera or his wind-up 8mm movie camera. He also loved to travel and along with his wife Nettie, enjoyed wintering in Florida. Bill was a devoted man who touched the lives of many. His legacy will be of a kind, generous, and loving man, who focused his efforts, to the betterment of his one true passion his family.
