MARJORIE ASGEIRSON (nee INNES) Peacefully, with family at her side, Marj passed away at the Riverview Health Centre, after a long, hard battle with cancer. Marj was born in Deloraine, MB on April 30, 1921. Following her graduation from high school, she moved to Winnipeg to attend business college. She met and married Archie in 1939. Marj was predeceased by Archie in 1985, parents, Laura and Allan Innes; brothers, Don and Jim and sister, Dorothy. To celebrate her life, she leaves her daughters, Lynne Henning, Laurie Stirton (Nick); son Barry; grandchildren, Kerry (Mary) and Scott (Renee) Stirton, Marc Asgeirson and great-grandchildren, Michael, Hannah, Callum and Ellie Stirton. Marj also leaves to mourn her sister Moira Bonar of Deloraine as well as numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives. Marj had many interest including bowling, knitting, crocheting, reading, travelling and doing crossword puzzles. She had a passion for politics and sports. She had a special love for her summers spent with the family at the cottage in Gimli. Marj worked for many years as a volunteer at Victoria Hospital and on the executive of the Hospital Guild. She enjoyed her work there and made many good friends. The family would like to give special thanks to the Palliative Care nurses and homecare workers, and the caring staff on 3E at Riverview Health Centre. A celebration of Marj's life will be held at the Unitarian Church, 603 Wellington Crescent at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 17.
