NICHOLAS SOKOLOSKI Peacefully on February 12, 2007 with family by his side, Nicholas passed away at Victoria Hospital at the age of 80 years. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Jessie Josephine; six children, Ronald (Dale), Joseph (Helen), Sheryl, Jim (Pat), Barbara (Gary) Lechowicz, and Nancy, numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren and many friends. Nicholas served with the Canadian Army, Prince Edward Brigade from 1944 to 1945. He worked for the City of Winnipeg and a member of Local 500 Union from September 29, 1953 to his retirement on July 2, 1988 serving 35 years of service. After retirement he enjoyed fishing, long walks, reading, movies and socializing with family and friends. He belonged to the Royal Canadian Legion, Prince Edward Br. #81. The family wishes to thank all our family and the staff at Victoria Hospital for all their care, comfort and compassion during this difficult time. Funeral Service will be celebrated on Thursday, February 15 at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Watt St. and Munroe Ave. with Rev. Fr. Doug LeClair presiding. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nicholas's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
