JOHN PETROWSKI January 24, 1922 - February 13, 2007 Peacefully on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at Misericordia Health Centre, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great- grandfather passed away at the age of 85 years. He is now with his Saviour and Lord. John is survived by his wife Helen; three daughters, Elizabeth (Ken) Knight of Winnipeg, Jo Ann (Robert) Martens of Morden and Joy (Bob) McKay of Minneapolis, MN. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. John came to Canada with his wife Helen in 1948 to start a new life here. In 1955 he and Helen started their own business, Lilac Tailors, which they owned and operated until 1980. They spent many happy retirement years at Caddy Lake and in Florida. John was a courageous, determined and generous man. He had a strong commitment to his friends, his family here and overseas, and to God. A special thank you is extended to the staff on the Cedar Grove Ward of Misericordia Health Centre for their loving care and support. Viewing will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., on Friday, February 16, 2007 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held Sunday, February 18, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Grant Memorial Baptist Church, 877 Wilkes Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gideons.
