LLOYD GEORGE PARK 1918 2007 It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather on February 12, 2007 at the Carman Memorial Hospital. Lloyd will be lovingly remembered by his wife Isabelle of 64 years; only daughter Nancy and son-in-law Dwight Adams; grandchildren, Mark (Joelle), Karen (Jason) and great-granddaughter Lauren who was born on Lloyd's birthday December 15. He also leaves to mourn his sister-in-law Elma Park; brothers, Doug (Iris), Jim (Marilyn); brother-in-law Elmer Lawrenson and 16 nieces and nephews. Lloyd was predeceased by his parents, Herb and Daisy Park; sister Beulah Park, and brothers, Earl (Betty), Max (Myrtle), Allen, Len and sister-in-law Ina Lawrenson. Lloyd was born and lived in Carman area his entire live. From 1942 1945 he served his Country during the Second World War in the R.S.A.S.C 4 Canadian Armored Division. After enlisting, he married his sweetheart Isabelle on July 17, 1942. In 1947 he proudly announced the arrival of his special daughter Nancy. Lloyd was a quiet, modest man. A man of integrity and honesty who truly enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved the land which he farmed for some 27 years. He retired in 1974. He was a fan of many sports. He enjoyed curling and participated in many a fun-filled bonspiels. His curling highlight an eight ender his team scored in 1958. For years Lloyd and Isabelle traveled throughout Manitoba playing different golf courses. Golfing highlight a hole-in-one at Scotswood Links in 1991. He followed most of the NHL hockey games on TV and was a passionate reader. He could read a couple of books a week from the Carman Library which would take him off to many far away places and yet he had no desire to travel. His family and home were his top priorities. At this time, our family would like to thank the Doctors and wonderful nursing staff at the Carman Hospital. Your caring and thoughtfulness is appreciated. In accordance with Lloyd's wishes, a private graveside service will follow at a later date.
