HELENA PASCOE (nee YANKE) Peacefully on February 12, 2007 at the Fred Douglas Manor in Winnipeg, MB, Helena Pascoe aged 100 years passed away. Helen was born on January 1, 1907 in Volynia, Russia. She immigrated to Canada with parents in 1912. In her younger years Helen loved to curl. Other hobbies included reading and gardening, and she had a fancy for horses. The love of her life were her children and her grandchildren. Wherever she lived she was known as a good neighbour. She was predeceased by her parents, August and Ernestina; her brothers, Fred, August, and Art Yanke; sisters, Tillie, Martha, and Olga; her son Wilfred and his wife Marion Russell; a son-in-law Jack Ziegler, and a daughter-in-law Florence Russell. She is survived by her children, Violet (Ken) McCormick, Norman (Eileen) Russell, Alice Ziegler (Ray); Russell grandchildren, Thelma, Stanley, Barbara, Linda and Gary; McCormick grandchildren, Alan, April, Eric and Joan; Russell grandchildren, Shirley, Ruth, Nancy, Gordon, Norman, Ellen, and Elizabeth; Ziegler grandchildren, Robert and John; along with many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters, Edith, Anna (Leo), Alma, Elsie and Esther; brothers, Willie (Leona), and Charlie (Joyce); along with numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 16, 2007 at the Eriksdale Recreational Centre in Eriksdale, MB with Melanie Kauppila and Shirley Russell officiating. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the hall. Pallbearers will be Robert Ziegler, John Ziegler, Eric McCormick, Gary Russell, Stanley Russell, and Gordon Russell. Interment to follow in the Eriksdale Municipal Cemetery. Special thanks to all the staff at the Fred Douglas Manor for the wonderful care they gave our Mother.
