Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNORMAN EDMOND VALENTINE GUTSCHER 1933 - 2007 It is with great sadness that the family announce the sudden passing of Norman Gutscher of Swan Lake, MB on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at the Lorne Memorial Hospital, Swan Lake, MB at the age of 73 years Norm was born to Roy and Hilda Gutscher on November 24, 1933, the oldest of three sons. He was predeceased by his Dad in 1966 and by his Mom in 1986. Left to mourn his passing and to cherish his loving memory are his brothers, Lorne (Greta) Gutscher of Swan Lake and Wayne ((Adeline) Gutscher of Killarney. Nephew, Brian (Michelle) Gutscher and their children, Victoria and Austin of Brandon. Nieces, Charlene Gutscher of Winnipeg and Erica (Cory) Hilhorst and their children, Benjamin and Drew of Killarney. Norm also leaves to mourn his passing two aunts, Gladys Hedley and Anna Van Den Bussche. Norm received his education in Swan Lake, MB. After completing his Grade 11 school year, he went on to attend Normal School and received his Teachers Permit and then obtained a teaching position in Douglas, MB. where he taught for one year. He then joined the Royal Bank in Somerset, MB and for the next nine years worked in different branches in Manitoba. It was in 1960, when Norm answered his calling as an Office Manager for Maple Leaf Construction. Norm spent the next 38 years with this company, a position he valued greatly. He had progressed through the many changes as the company grew and always rose to the challenges before him. He retired from Maple Leaf in 1998 at the age of 65 years. Norm's greatest passion was his bowling. He bowled in a mixed league for many years, receiving many trophies and a 20 year Recognition Plaque from the Greenlee League in Winnipeg. Norm left Winnipeg in 2000 and spent most of his retirement days around Swan Lake with relatives and friends. He especially looked forward to his afternoon coffee at Jana's Kitchen. Our heartfelt thanks goes out to Drs. Desmond and Bruneau and the wonderful nurses at the Swan Lake Hospital for their compassionate care during this difficult time. Funeral Services will be conducted by Rev. Allision Halstead in the Swan Lake Catholic Church, Swan Lake, MB on Saturday, February 17, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow at the Protestant Cemetery, Swan Lake, MB. In lieu of flowers as expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Norman's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of MB, 200 6, Donald St,.
