PEARL JOSEPHINE ATKINSON (McARTHUR) (nee STEFANIUK) February 16, 1912 - January 26, 2007 Today Auntie Pearl would be 95 . Pearl passed away at the Trillium Lodge in Parksville, BC. Survived by her son Donnie McArthur of Parksville, BC, Auntie Pearl will be remembered by nephew Wayne Parkin of Dryden, ON and son Terry (Nancy) and family of ThunderBay, ON; niece Ricki (Parkin) Brown (Terry) of Lowe Farm, MB and daughters, Jenny (Luis Ramirez) of Langley, BC and Shelly (Todd Resler) of Winnipeg, MB, Scott and Erin Parkin and family of Dryden, ON, Kerry Parkin of Thunder Bay, ON and Wendy (Parkin) Wiedenhoeft of Dryden, ON. Survived also by members of her brother's, William Bill George (Stefaniuk) and Teenie Miller, family of Winnipeg, MB. Predeceased by husbands, Don McArthur Sr. and Bill Atkinson (1976); daughter-in-law Faye McArthur; parents, John Stefaniuk (1954) of Dryden, ON and Mary Jane (Mary Louisa) (nee Hodgkinson) Stefaniuk May Miller (1972) Winnipeg, MB (Robert Browley); sister Lenore Lena (Stefaniuk) Parkin (1995) and brother-in-law James Parkin Jr. (1980) Dryden, ON; nephews, Kerry James Parkin (1946), Dale Parkin (1999) of Dryden, ON; uncle Charles A. Hodgkinson (1989) of Dryden, ON. Pearl was born in Dryden, ON. Pearl and Lenore were sisters and best friends and shared many of life's up's and down's growing up. Auntie Pearl's passions were, travelling, she ventured from Dryden to Nakina in N.E. Ontario to Hudson Hope, Fort St. John, Hope, Chilliwack, BC also to the United States. Her love of cooking brought her to where she felt her food would be appreciated best, in construction camps, this is where she met Bill. Bingo, she loved her bingo games with friends...Animals, over the years Pearl had many, her favourite being a little Chihuahua that accompanied her on her travels...in Hope, BC. Pearl's love of gardening was evident in her fruit trees and roses. Special thanks go to Betty Nachtigal and Dianne Bradshaw for their unconditional love and care for Auntie Pearl. Cremation has taken place. Burial will be in Chilliwack, BC at a later date.
