HELEN BRIDGE With family at her side, Helen Bridge passed away at St. Boniface Hospital on February 15, 2007. Helen leaves to cherish her memory two daughters and two sons and their families: Beth Williams and Myron Boyko (Lauren and Adam), Barbara and Pat Bend (Ryan and Shane); Barry and Kim Bridge (Kris and Catherine); Garth and Laura Bridge (Sean and Eric); nieces and nephews and their families, and many good friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence Bridge, in 1992. Born in Carberry, Manitoba, she moved to Portage la Prairie at the age of 10. She moved to Winnipeg in the late 1940s where she met and married Lawrence. Mom was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved children, especially her grandchildren, who were the centre of her life. She also loved animals, especially family pets and was a life-long supporter of the Winnipeg Humane Society. At their home in Charleswood, where they lived for 29 years, mom and dad had a large garden which was a source of pride and joy. Mom loved cooking and was an excellent baker. She enjoyed preparing many wonderful Sunday dinners for her family over the years. Mom enjoyed knitting, doing crossword puzzles, playing cards, and watching hockey, but most of all loved spending time with her family. Mom was always ready with kind and caring advice and we will miss her gentle guidance so much. Thanks to the warm and caring staff at Kildonan House for their support. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 19, 2007 at Thomson Funeral Home. In keeping with Helen's wishes, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
