DOROTHY PARK It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, sister and friend, Dorothy Frances Park, on Thursday, February 15, 2007, after a three year courageous battle with cancer at the age of 63 years. She was predeceased by husband Brian in 1998; father Joseph; mother Grace; father-in-law Cecil; and mother-in-law Cassie. She is lovingly remembered by her three children, sons, Kevin and Trevor (Sue), daughter Tracy (Darryl Duczminski); special friend Jim Gillespie; sister Norma (Ozzie); brother Bobby; sisters-in-law, Joyce (Ross), Doreen, Judy (Stu), Patsy (Rick) and Irene; brothers-in-law, Allan, Curtis, and Ken (Irene); and grandson Jordan; numerous nieces and nephews and many, many friends. Dorothy was born January 15, 1944 in Fort William, ON. She moved to Winnipeg at the age of 13 and attended school at Elmwood. After school she went to work for MTS for four years. She met and soon married the great love of her life, Brian, in 1966. Shortly after they started their family where she enjoyed being at home with the kids. As we got older she went back to work for MPIC and then Revenue Canada where she spent 21 years, retiring in January 2004. She found love and happiness again when she met Jim. They enjoyed spending the summers at the cabin where endless games of horseshoes were played. In the winter she loved to curl and did five times a week right up until she could no longer. Her attitude, spirit, courage and strength were inspiring. She was truly an amazing person and will be deeply missed. The family would like to thank the CancerCare unit at St. Boniface Hospital for the care they took with Mom. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, February 20 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Ash interment to follow in Garry Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dorothy's memory to CancerCare Manitoba. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
