Date of Passing: Feb 16, 2007
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJERRY KAPRAWY It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Jerry Kaprawy on Friday, February 16, 2007 at his residence. Jerry will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his loving wife, Toby (Torfhildur), with whom he would have celebrated 50 years of marriage this year. Jerry is also survived by his brother Joe Kaprowy; sister Elizabeth (Sam) Kowalchuk; sister Olga Swatiuk; sister-in-law Ann Kaprowy; sister-in-law Lillian Kaprawy, plus numerous nieces, nephews and friends that each held a special place in his heart. Jerry was predeceased by his parents, Olena and Ignace Kaprawy, and brothers, Tony, Steve, Harry and Emil. Jerry was born on December 14, 1927 in the Bjarmi area and lived on the family homestead. Jerry was an avid hunter who often had people come from miles away to hunt and enjoy his company in the caboose (if only the caboose could talk!!). We're sure the deer population is breathing a sigh of relief. He loved farming and gardening and was very generous with the fruits of his labour. He was always bringing little gifts to his favourite people. Jerry also enjoyed fishing with his brother Harry and deeply missed Harry upon his passing. In his later years, his livestock consisted of many cats and dogs, whom he spoiled outrageously! You could often find Jerry in his garage making kindlin' or just tinkering around. We will all miss Jerry's teasing and good natured approach to life. He made us smile. Prayers will be held Wednesday, February 21, 2007 from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at the Mackenzie Funeral Chapel in Arborg, MB. A service of remembrance will be held Thursday, February 22, 2007 at 12:00 noon at the Mackenzie Funeral Chapel in Arborg, MB with a lunch to follow at the Arborg Community Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Arborg Personal Care Home would be greatly appreciated.
