Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFREDERICK WILLIAM GRUSHKA On February 20, 2007, Fred Grushka, beloved husband to Marge passed away at the Selkirk General Hospital. Fred was born on April 21, 1944 in Poplarfield, MB. He leaves to cherish his memory his sons Kelvin (Sandra) and Fred (Pam); grandchildren, Skylynn, Aiden, Coleman and Nicole; brother Julian (Kelly) along with numerous other family and friends. Fred was preceded by his parents Jane and Fred Grushka. Fred and Marge started their journey together in Fred's hometown of Poplarfield and married in 1968. Together they moved to Winnipeg and then to Winnipeg Beach in 1973 and started their family and lived until he passed on. Fred's passion for woodworking took him into a life long career in carpentry and into his semi-retirement where he continued in his woodworking building birdhouses and lawn furniture. Fred spent his semi-retirement and final years enjoying watching sports, movies and the smiles and laughter of his grandchildren. Fred and Marge together enjoyed their frequent visits from family and friends where Fred could tell all his stories while Marge would feed them. Fred will always be known for all his stories, facts and words of wisdom. Our hearts are saddened by this loss but we celebrate the life of a strong man, who was full of wisdom and never hesitated to help those around him. We love you very much, you gave and taught us so much and we will hold you in our hearts forever. God bless you. Rest in peace. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 23, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli. Interment will follow at Winnipeg Beach Cemetery.
