JAMES (JAMIE) BORYS Our Greatest Teacher It is with much love and sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Jamie Borys at the age of 13. He left his home to dance with the angels on Sunday, February 18, 2007. Left to remember his gentle spirit are his parents, Peter and Jackie, and sisters, Nicole and Kristen. He will also be lovingly remembered by Grandma Sylvia, Grandpa Vince, Auntie Lorraine, Auntie Susie, Uncle Lou, cousins, TJ, Sean and Louie, Uncle Rob, Auntie Pat and cousins, Corey and Ryan. Jamie was diagnosed with Mucopolysaccharidoses (MPS) at the age of four months. Despite the challenges of his disease, he grew to an active, happy child who loved playing with cars, watching movies, and just being close with his sisters, Nicky and Krissy. Even as his abilities lessened, Jamie's spirit remained strong and his smile brought joy to others. Jamie attended Munroe Day Nursery from the age of two to 13 and they were all an amazing part of his life! Until September 2006, Jamie enjoyed attending Polson School, where he felt loved and accepted. Most recently, for a short time, he attended Salisbury / Morse Place. The family wished to thank everyone who showed devotion and compassion for our precious boy. Our sincere appreciation goes to Dr. Frank Friesen (Calgary) and to Dr. Goldberg for their tireless care. Thanks also to Kathy Furkalo (SW-C.S.S.) for her loving dedication. For his patience and guidance, thank you to Ken Garroni, MSW. There were many special people who were part of Jamie's daily life, including Polson staff members, Mary Kearsey, Giselle Collette, Betty Bergen, Bonnie McLeod, Kathy Hurrell, Gail Bartel, the late Sally Chrisp, Katrina Koch-Schulte, Kim Campbell, Rosemarie Greenway and most recently Lisa Froebe. Respite workers, Donna Alford, Sandy Guenther, Allison Bardwell, Sarah Silva, Amie Ballagher, Rachelle Kolba, and of course, our unending gratitude goes to many family and friends who graciously put their lives on hold to offer love and support. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 24 at 9:30 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donation in Jamie's memory may be made to Polson School, 491 Munroe Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R2K 1H5. A precious gift from heaven A treasure from above A child who's brought us many things, But most of all ... Real Love ! Arrangements entrusted to: Glen Eden Funeral Home 4477 Main Street 338-7111 Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of condolences at www.gleneden-mb.ca
