Betty was born in Winnipeg, on June 8, 1919, and grew up in Elmwood. She married Bob on April 3, 1943, and they resided in the St. Vital area, where they celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary. Betty was employed for 20 years at the Misericordia Hospital's finance department, retiring in June, 1984. In her retirement, she enjoyed gardening, making ceramics, and attending luncheons with her high school friends. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Barbara (Denis) Carpentier; granddaughter Shannon; grand-dog Maggie; sisters-in-law, Shirley Boyce (Jim), Pat Martin (Al), Ruth Bonser, and by her lifelong friend Pat Proctor. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private family interment will be held at a later date. Betty will be laid to rest with her husband Bob in Elmwood Cemetery. The family extends special thanks to the compassionate and caring staff at Bethania Personal Care Home. Mom's never ceasing love and care for her husband, daughter and granddaughter will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
