BERTHA HUOT (nee MORIER) A wonderful lady has gone to be with our Lord. Our precious mother, Bertha Huot, (wife of the late Paul Ernest Huot), passed away peacefully at Foyer Valade on Sunday, February 18, 2007. Bertha was 101 years old. Bertha was born November 10, 1905 to Oscar and Alexanderine Morier. She married Paul Huot in 1928 and raised their four children in St. Boniface. Bertha worked part time for The Bay and volunteered for many years for Meals On Wheels. Her kindness and caring ways always preceded her. Bertha's children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant the world to her. Bertha is survived by her loving sons, Raymond (Rita), Paul (Doreen) and Maurice (Maureen); grandchildren, Anne Marie Sklar (Jeff), Richard Huot (Linda), Patricia Huot, Denise Francisco (Joel), Roger Huot (Mary), Christine Huot Vanwijn (Ben), and Edmond Huot; great-grandchildren, Jessie and Nicole Sklar, Mitchel and Easton Huot, Sarina and Diego Francisco, Sydney and Chase Huot and Britney and Ashley Vanwijn. Bertha is also survived by her devoted brothers, Adlard Morier and Roger (Buddy) Morier, and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Paul; daughter Colette; sisters, Laura, Simone, Noella, Beatrice, and brother Pete. In keeping with Bertha's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, February 27 at 11:00 a.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald St. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Foyer Valade, 450 River Rd., Winnipeg, MB, R2M 5M4 or a charity of one's choice.
