MADISON LOTTIE WOTHERSPOON It is with deep, overwhelming pain and sadness that we announce the passing of our precious five year old daughter, Madison Lottie Wotherspoon, at home in the early hours of February 21, 2007. Maddy leaves to mourn her Mommy, Pamela Koch; her Daddy, Scott Wotherspoon, and her beloved sisters, Kasia, Sachelle, and Teagan. She also leaves her grandparents, Ma Gloria Koch, Grandpa Clayton Wotherspoon, Grandma Doreen Wotherspoon; her grandparents in kind , Stella and Walter Ahlgren, and her many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. She will be very missed by her Godparents, Auntie Kelly and Uncle Darrell, who shared many special moments with her. Cody and Tweet, her special stuffed friends, are grieving deeply. Madison was born on April 16, 2001 at St. Boniface General Hospital and shone warmly and brightly from the moment of birth to her final moments. She loved life and marveled at all of the simple things that so many of us take for granted. Everything was new, beautiful, and of interest to Madison. She was careful to think of others so as not to hurt anyone. In a simple word, Madison was LOVE in its purest form. Everyone she has met has been touched in some way and is fortunate to have known her. Maddy spent many hours enjoying the love of her sisters, whom she adored, dancing, singing songs, dressing up, listening to music, colouring, playing in the hammock, and just being silly. Her sense of humour was noteworthy and will be warmly remembered. Her deep hearty laugh will never be forgotten. She loved her Mama and Daddy dearly; we were constant companions. With her Mom she enjoyed gardening, preparing for special events, baking, crafts, and visiting friends. She enjoyed Dad's tickling, shooting hoops , his guitar, going to Dad's office, and running errands. She loved riding her bike, swinging on her swing set, walking around the block, skating, tobogganing, and going on adventures . Her very special place was at the family cottage at Westhawk Lake where she spent time with family and friends in the paddleboat, in the water and on the beach, by the campfires, feeding the ducks and the deer, hiking, sitting on the dock, and going for ice cream. She even loved the bats that would occupy our cottage exterior from time to time. The simple things were what pleased Madison the most. Like most little girls, Maddy adored princesses and enjoyed books and movies that included them. Her favourite programs were Dragon Tales, Curious George and Caillou. She loved the color pink, the card game Go Fish, Polly Pockets, Barbie, and enjoyed a very eclectic taste in music including Bob Marley, James Blunt, Gwen Stefani, Hilary Duff, The Ramones, and numerous children's and Disney songs. Pirates of the Caribbean and Charlotte's Web were two very special movies that she enjoyed. We were continually amazed and inspired by Madison's strength and courage throughout her illness. She remained positive and secure during the treatments and procedures that she had to endure. Her illness reinforced for us that each day and moment is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. It was a privilege and blessing to have Madison as a daughter and sister. Maddy's final days were spent surrounded by her Mama, Daddy, and sisters talking, reading, playing her favourite music, expressing love, and ensuring comfort. She passed peacefully with her Mom and Dad by her side. Madison leaves behind many wonderful caregivers, too numerous to mention individually, that provided love and support that enhanced her quality of life in her last eight months. Maddy's love extends to her amazing doctors, nurses, residents, child life specialists, volunteers, and staff on CK5 (Children's Hospital) and CancerCare Manitoba who do tremendous and caring things. There is a special place in our hearts for Cathy Bourne; because of her dedication, love and daily support, Madison, Mom and Dad were able to survive some of her toughest medical challenges. Madison (and Tweet) lit up when Cathy walked in the room or she heard her voice. All of these special people provided Maddy with dignity and love during this time of sickness. Madison also leaves to mourn her church family, community, and neighbours who have been so supportive and loving throughout. Madison, We'll love you forever, we'll like you for always, as long as we're living, our baby you'll be. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or Children's Wish Foundation. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, February 27 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity United Church, 933 Summerside Ave. www.mts.net/~tuc The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU CO. • Its beautiful and Madison too. I have s feeling She's always here. In the rays of sun coming thru the window, the hugs from that stuffy, and the love in the eyes of her mommy. Stay strong my friend. She wouldn't want anything less. :-) - Posted by: Tammy J (Friend and colleague ) on: Dec 18, 2012
