WILLIAM (BILL) ANDRICH It is with great sorrow the family wishes to announce that William Albert Roch Andrich passed away at the Portage District General Hospital on Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at the age of 86. Bill is survived by his wife Mae; son Duke (Susan), grandsons Jason, Ryan, Shawn and Christopher; son Todd (Tannis), granddaughter Avery Mae all of Portage la Prairie; son Dean of Austin, and sister Betty O'Reilly of Kelowna, BC. Bill was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Maude, and his brothers, George, Jack and Walter (Bud). Bill was born in Portage la Prairie on January 10, 1921. He enjoyed his youth at Delta Beach at the cottage and played for the Portage Terriers hockey team. He served in the Second World War as a pilot in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He then owned and operated Andrich Meat Market and Locker Plant for 25 years. Bill was a founding member of the local Kinsmen Club. He spent many enjoyable years curling and was a member of the local Curling Club. A memorial service will take place at a later date. If friends and family wish to make a donation in Bill's memory, the family suggests the Portage District General Hospital Foundation, 524 5th Street SE, Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 3A8 or the Lions Prairie Manor Foundation, 24 9th Street SE, Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 3V4. The family would like to thank the staff at the Portage District General Hospital and the Lion's Prairie Manor for the wonderful level of care and compassion that Bill received there over the past few years.
