EDWARD A. PAWLUK October 13, 1933 - February 21, 2007 A heart of gold stopped beating, working hands at rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best. It is with deep sadness that the family wishes to announce a tearful farewell to Dad and Gedo on Wednesday, February 21, 2007. Dad will now be reunited with his (late) loving wife Joyce (2003). Left to cherish his memory are his son Craig (Roxane), grandkids, Kristen (Kirk), Jennifer, Wesley, Michelle and Brayden; daughter Debby (Rob), grandkids Troy and Grant; daughter Crystal (James); brothers, Mike (Rose), Bill, Ernie (Phyllis); sisters, Polly, Jean, Elsie (Victor), Sophie (Clarence); inlaws, Bonnie, Elsie Pawluk and Jerry Harrison. Brothers, Pete, Nick, John; sisters Anne, Mary and Olga; inlaws Bill, Jean, Reggie, Barbra Harrison; Nellie, Sophie Pawluk, Mike Zurba, Walter Korolyk and parents John and Anne predeceased him. His entire life was spent in the Melnice District. His lifetime was spent on the farm which included a cattle, hog and grain operation. Dad became a councillor in the R.M. of St. Andrews which he thoroughly enjoyed and made many new friendships. As a young man he managed men's fastball teams and he proudly talked about their many victories. He was also a lifetime member of the Winnipeg Beach Curling Club. Sports was a very influential part of his life, when he could no longer participate he became the greatest supporter and fan of his grandchildren's sports. No one could out brag Gedo; whether it be hockey, curling, soccer or baseball, his grandkids were always the best in his eyes. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Loudon and all the staff at Teulon Hospital. Sincere thanks to Dave and Michelle Tillett and staff at Mr. and Mrs. T's Coffee Shop for making Dad's daily visits more enjoyable and accommodating his medical needs. To his many coffee friends your friendship was invaluable. Honorary pallbearers are Ed Stefanuk, Dave Tillett, David Skwarek, Rick Palmer, Sam Genick and Martin Zelych. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at Matlock Recreational Centre. Father Peter Chorney will officiate. Interment of ashes will take place at a later date in the St. Williams Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Teulon Hunter Memorial Hospital. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Teulon, in care of arrangements. 467-2525.
