HUGH ROBERTSON SCOTT Hugh Robertson Scott, 89, of Keene, ON, entered into rest on February 21, 2007. Hugh was born in Rankinston, Scotland. During the First World War his father was killed at Vimy Ridge, and his mother moved back to Headingley, MB. Hugh served with the 12th Manitoba Dragoons in the Second World War for four years, serving in Europe. Following the war Hugh married Ethel Brown of Headingley and served in the Signal Corps, at Camp X in Oshawa, ON, for 17 years, where they raised their family, then moved to London, ON, where he worked at the airport as a radio technician for nine years, finally retiring in Keene, ON. Hugh was fond of team sports and was actively involved with his sons in hockey, baseball and camping. Upon retirement, he and Ethel spent 27 winters in Riverview, FL. He loved to play the mandolin and played in the Rice Creek RV park bands where he also taught bridge and shuffled with a wide range of friends. Hugh was predeceased by three brothers, George, Bill and Leslie. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ethel; three sons, Dennis of Calgary, AB, Tom, who lives in Norway, and Frank, who lives in Mexico, their wives and four grandchildren. Memorial donations may be sent to Keene United Church, Box 159, Keene, ON K0L 2G0.
