The family would like to thank the staff on the fourth floor North of the Victoria Hospital for their care and compassion over the last two months. Raised on the farm in Kirkness, MB Elizabeth loved the outdoors. She had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening and horticulture. She was a very successful Tupperware dealer in the 1960s. Moving to Winnipeg, she completed her Grade 12 and Secretarial training in the early 1970s. Mom worked at the Mall Medical Clinic in electro cardiology and as administrative secretary for Bud Jobin during his term as Lieutenant Governor. A memorable event was meeting and conversing with Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip during their visit to Winnipeg. In retirement she started her own business, Baskets by Betty, which grew from a part time hobby to fill her days for several years. She had a fulfilled life and always made time for family. Elizabeth's faith was strengthened by attending studies and conventions with her Bible Student brethren. Her faith in God strengthened her to endure her short battle with ALS, trusting in God's will for her to the end. Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from henceforth. Yes, says the Spirit, they will rest from their labors, and their deeds will follow them. Revelations 14:13 In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Elizabeth's memory to the ALS society of Manitoba, N108-2109 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, R3J OL3.
